Follow up

Having played for quite some time, we always assumed that on destroying an enemy unit, the victor followed up into the vacated hex. However, on re-reading the rules, it could be interpreted that you only follow up when forcing a unit to recoil of flee- not when destroying a unit. Which do you play? Follow up on all occasions, or only follow up when advancing after a surviving unit
Many thanks

All units must automatically follow-up and occupying the hex, after eliminating an enemy unit.
Exceptions are:
The victorious unit:
Is A class infantry.
Is part of a 'shield wall.'
Is behind planted stakes.
Is behind pavisses.
Is of a unit type that cannot enter the terrain contained in the hex.

Thanks for the reply.
We have always played the follow up when destroying an enemy, although we had a go at a game without doing this- it led to some very interesting results. but the negatives certainly outweighed the positives, The A class troops not having to follow up is a new one (unless I missed it somewhere). Is this a change for the rules update? Any news on when the update might be made available?
Many thanks

Hi Ratty
The 'A' class infantry not having to follow-up into the vacated hex is on page 12 of the rule book, or somewhere close!
Rules update! The updated text is complete and has been for a while. We are currently sorting out important production logistics and really need to get everything in place before we release the updated rules and army lists. We anticipate an increase in H&H sales which we have to be prepared for.

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to the updates, especially tweaks to army lists. Are there any new armies in either the medieval or fantasy lists?
