Battle of Somme, July 1st 1916

Here is an After Action Report and photos of the Battle of Somme commemoration game in the Joy of Six Show earlier this year. The terrain contours were courtesy of Kallistra Hexon.

That is a good way to get 'true' contours onto a table. I have just bought some of their slope hexsides to give a proper contour as the ground raises / drops as I would like to do Hasting ridge sometime this year.

Norm, if you get a heavier terrain mat (I use the Mat o War from Antenocitis) then there isn't such a need for the slope hex sides. The mat sits nicely and creates the slopes for you. That said, I have plenty of the slope hex sides because some of the valleys get too narrow otherwise.
