Re: Battle for Marchais-en-Brie

I love Tuscany. Thank you for making the effort in English. Grazie. In October 2017, we will replay a game of the Battle of Pozzuolo del Friuli. Many English-speaking readers will not be familiar with this famous battle that involved a heroic stand by Italian cavalry. Here is one of many paintings: ...

Crossing the Marne

Here is a photo of the board set up for a scenario set during the First Battle of the Marne. You can see the Kallistra Hexon terrain peeking out from under the terrain cloth. More views to come once the scenario has been play tested. The Marne river is at the bottom of the photo. The view is looking...

Battle for Marchais-en-Brie

There is an AAR for this scenario here . The original battle was part of the First Battle of the Marne in September 1914. The table features Hexon terrain, which provided an accurate representation of the contours in this area. It really helped in understanding why the original battle played out as ...

Here is a photograph of all the Hexon terrain that we used to set up the First Battle of the Marne. The photo was taken from the balcony in the Dormans' Memorial Chapel:

Here are the Hexon contour layers for the First Ypres scenario that we played:

The contour lines are based on battle maps from the period.
