Re: WWII Brits v German: Normandy

Yes, its rather rather good isn't it. Dave Mac should be taking commisions! He uses his own formula scatter and system for flocking.

WWII Brits v German: Normandy

In this scenario we were using the battlegroup rule system, adapted to hexes, to fight a contact engagement between British and German reconnaissance units. The terrain layout was provided by Dave Mack and is typical of the terrain encountered inland from the Normandy beaches. My German recon unit c...

Re: Kallistra for D and D roleplaying games

As long as the item being modelled isn't to large I would use standard milliput. It goes very hard in a few hours and does not tend to shrink or crack. One trick I've used is to model the shape slightly smaller in styrofoam, then cover the foam in a thin layer of milliput, which you can then texture...

Re: Romano British v Norman (2 games)

Hi Ratty
The playing area is 6 feet by 4 feet, not that compact, but I agree with you, in the photo it appears smaller than it really is! Probably because the chap in the forground is Tony, who is about 6ft 5 and broad, which does make the layout and the other two players appear 'compact.'

HHM Picts v Romano British

HHM Picts v Romano British This was the first outing for Picts in a club game. We have no Picts figures currently, so we improvised and used our Barbarian army, which seemed to look quite acceptable as Picts when they arrived on the table on mass! The ‘Pictish’ warriors were treated as ‘B’ class, a...

Re: Romano British v Norman (2 games)

On re-reading this battle report I think its fair to say that the photos don't really tell the story of the story of the two games. The speed and intensity of play with 6 players and changing players and table sides between games, all in less than 3 hours, meant that I was far too involved in playin...

Re: Mars kallistra

It's taken me a short while to locate the martian type Hexon boards in the unit - the boxes weren't labelled! I started with the desert flock then added red followed by a grey/brown flock to random areas of the board. I then covered the boards with a very light beige flock leaving a few areas with t...
