WW1 - Raging Empires - Troop Classes

Hi You have made available suggested unit compositions for 1914 on your website, which is much appreciated. When will you release details of the different troop classes for each nation and their 'breaking points'? I appreciate that 'breaking points' will be subjective and scenario driven, but feel t...

Re: WW1 French - 1914 Uniform

I agree, as it harks back to the colourful uniforms worn in 1870. And of course their Napoleonic predecessors. Looking forward to your '1915' French in their Adrian helmets and "horizon" blue uniforms. Apparently the French Ministry of War chose the new colour as light blue , but it was a ...

Very interesting program. Did not realise the way they built the chariot wheels. At first you think this was over engineered, but then understand the reason for building them in such a way. A fascinating piece of experimental archeology.

Again thank you for sending the link. :)

Thanks for that.

For anyone on the forum without access to British coins these are the diameters according to the Royal Mint:

1p 20.3mm
2p 25.9mm

WW1 - Raging Empires - Commander base sizes

Hi From reading your Great War 'Raging Empires' rules, looking at the suggested unit compositions, and the various photos posted on the forum of games you have run at various shows, I see that you have based the Commanders as follows: Infantry Regimental Commander - 3 figures on a round base Sub Com...

Re: New Kingdom Egyptian

Hi Gabz The men in the Chariot arm of the Egyptian and Hittite's were the best of the best at the time. On a scientific note they have built an Egyptian war chariot using original building processes taking the blue prints from temple drawings and found that it was a very stable platform to shoot fr...

Re: Power drills?

If you get on with using a Dremel - well done. I presume you have the Dremel held in a drill stand or bench vice? Just the weight of the drill would snap a 0.35mm drill bit. I mention this out of curiosity and to advise any beginner to be careful. I would also STRONGLY advise the wearing of protecti...

Re: Raging Empires different scale

Hi Fenton, I can see no reason why the Raging Empires system cannot be scaled up or down according to the size of battle being fought or availability of miniatures. One stand of infantry could be made to represent a company and one artillery stand a battery of 6 or 4 guns. At our club a group have ...
