mini imaginations Dark Age campaign

fellow blogger, Jay, has but together a 3 battle mini campaign for some 18th Century imaginations action. It is hex based, but he has provided maps and counters for download, though the engine could quite easily be used on an open table and indeed the original scenarios are intended to be used that ...

Re: WW II ‘Assault the Village’

Lovely table and models and the ambush idea really gives interest and life to play, as well as being quite different. Enjoyed very much, thanks.

Re: Battle of McDowell 1862

Thanks Paul, the situation of additional Confederate brigades feedinging into the battle seems to naturally drive the scenario in the right direction. The system does put emphasis on the attrition of units and the benefits of fresh units / reserves, which I think helps in this situation.

Battle of McDowell 1862

On the table, Kallistra 12mm ACW with Kallistra 4" hexes using my Two Flags - One Nation rules. The blog has notes on the scenario design and an AAR. While looking at the battle, I found a rather nice spreadsheet that showed unit strengths and the types of weapon they were using, links are in t...

Design problems with my river hexes

My Hexon terrain uses 'in hex' river features, but I am having problems getting my rules to reflect how smoothbore armed units that can only fire 1 hex, can engage with units on the other side of the waterway, which is essentially 2 hexes away, even though the waterway (Bull Run) is know to be narro...

Re: River sections

Very nicely done. Getting my water edges sorted is at the front on my queue. Your work is inspiring, as always.
