Hi,
Has anyone used the Undead in a game of Hordes and Heroes, and if so. how did they perform?
Looking at the army list it looks tricky to use. It says under the army special rules that units only recoil and not flee, are they also affected by disruption? Also what do Psychological units do?
Best wishes.

Hi Ratty,
Although undead do not flee - they have no fear, I guess, being already dead, but they will recoil through combat. They can become disrupted if forced to recoil the normal displacement rules apply. They are subject to the zone of control rules and therefore undead units forced to recoil are removed from play because as per usual they cannot enter the zone of control of an enemy unit.

Psychological units e.g. tormented spirits, do not cause casualties(removal of stands), but do cause opponents to become disrupted, recoil, or flee. They are very strong in hand-to-hand combat and when used in conjunction with a non-psychological unit they do indirectly cause casualties in the normal way. For example, if an undead spear unit and a unit of tormented spirits simultaneously attacked and defeated a unit of, lets say, High Elf Spears, the High Elves would suffer casualties because they are being attacked by a physical enemy unit as well as 'ghosts.'

Overall, if used carefully, playing to it's strengths, an undead army is very good value in points especially if you can play the territorial game and force your opponent back, remembering that your undead army does not flee from combat.

Thanks for the reply. Tried a game with Undead against High Elves. Complete disaster!! Need a lot more thought on how to play them well, their D class status was the main issue against the Elves archery. Ouch! :?
