Re: Using the depth in kallistra
I used split firelighters and floral oasis pva'd in place. Flocked and then tufted. weathering to come. I didn't edge them properly. All hexes are chamfered to ensure the hexes are still wholly apparent. Alas I think I didn't flock up to the line well enough, but this was first effort. Hexes were pu...

Re: Using the depth in kallistra
And more. Work in progress and finished article. We will improve our finished product as we go along. Weathering will certainly be required.

Using the depth in kallistra
I have sought permission before I made this post and subsequent posts on this subject. I hope it will help people decide on Kallistra for their wargames. My oppo and I thought long and hard before we went for Kallistra hexon, and we were not disappointed. We havent seen anything that comes close whe...

Re: New setup
Even though the depth is modest, my oppo and I really think it makes a difference. Not in the right order alas :-) I experimented with using hi quality photographs under the varnish. Might have worked better on something larger and with a smaller scale photo. I will try it again on a lake, but not f...

Re: New setup
There are two completed single hexons. Basically upside down boards to use the depth with varnish and plaster work, all flocked and tufted. The wide river sections are a long haul job. Re: New setup
I do have to make some specific road pieces to fit up to the hills as my own pieces are a tad too wide to fit tightly. I'm working on some depth conversions at the moment. Pictures to follow

And a final lot for now...
For the record, Kallistra is THE surface for wargaming as far as we are concerned. Nothing quite like it.

Re: New setup
We're improving things all the time. Just got rid of shed loads of buildings, trees and hedges to make room for a better quality lot [Raventhorpes etc]. These are some of the latest pictures that show enhanced Kallistra hex hills and some of the new woods, as well as combat shots. Hope you enjoy.

Re: New setup
Quickly throwing a few pics from earlier this year on for you to see the setup. Its progressing nicely bit by bit. The woods are all trees drilled into the boards. I will post some more pics in the near future.
